Step-by-step filter dropdown menus mac vs windows

Hi,

 

I have integrated some dropdown menus into our prestashop 1.6.0.6 menu and they work great, however depending on what browser is used, the drop downs look different (i believe they use the default ones for the computer/browser being used).

I dont really like the Mac dropdowns and would like them to have a standard look, not depending on browser/OS.

 

I tried contacting Vekia about some questions on the module but i dont seem to get any response from him so Im trying with you guys here.

 

Is it possible to have a custom look on drop down menus that look the same on all browsers?

That looks like the default browser's way of rendering a dropdown box. Overriding mac styling is difficult from what I understand. Check out: https://css-tricks.com/dropdown-default-styling/. Another thing to think about though, is while YOU may not like it's appearance, a mac user will be more familiar with that style and possibly prefer it.

wow, yea seems kind of tricky.. Im sure, however the Mac dropdowns are much more narrow, making the menus seem in "un-centered", thats mostly my issue and I cant seem to make them get in the center of the menu while looking different on the different platforms ;/
