I wondered if you can have prestashop running with files on one hosting (for eg godaddy) and database on completely different (eg 1and1). However PS is extremely reliant on the database, so having your files on 1 server and the database on a different server can cause extreme slowness. How are you going to guarantee the communication between the 2 servers at 2 different hosting companies? Also you need to worry about an insecure connection between the 2 servers.
