webservice import vs AdminImport controller

Recommended Posts

Before digging into php code, I would like to know if performing importation of products via webservice is fast than using the AdminImport controller.

Actually, I use a php script to post a request to the AdminImport controller to do my import.  It took around 45 min to import a 8000 products from csv file with a catalogue containing only the categories.

So, stick with my solution or spend time to import via the webservice

- prestashop: (only application in this server)

- 2 cpu

- 4 g ram

- Percona mysql

- ubuntu 14.04

Thank  you in advance for your help
