Internal Server Error After Agreeing To Terms & Conditions

Recommended Posts

Funny how I've been running into problem after problem JUST to install (not to mention having to wait over three hours just for all the files to upload), come to realize Prestashop charges for support?!

Funny, indeed. At any rate, I've followed the advice of several forum posts and can't even get past the second installation screen because of the internal server error message.

Steps I've taken:

1. Changed all necessary folders permissions to '755'. That got me past the issue with "recursive write permissions".

2. Changed PHP version to 5.2

3. Attempted to mess with the .htaccess file to edit the rewrite line as suggested on other posts. Here's what I found upon looking for the .htaccess file in FileZilla:

And the list KEEPS GOING.

I would appreciate it if someone could reach out to me before I waste any more time, because this is seriously killing my productivity and will not result in a favorable review of your product.

EDIT:

The solution that seems to be working for others doesn't appear to be an option in my case. The following article explains to turn off/on SEO friendly urls, then edit the .htaccess file that appears (I'm assuming in the root directory?):

http://www.letswebify.com/http-500-internal-server-error-when-seo-friendly-urls-are-activated-on-prestashop-1-5-6-1/

However, there is no way for me to do anything because I can't even install it.

EDIT 2:

I turned on error reporting and now get the following message:

Warning: unlink(G:\PleskVhosts\MyDomainName\httpdocs\Downloads\cache\claAE34.tmp) [function.unlink]: Permission denied inG:\PleskVhosts\MyDomainName\httpdocs\Downloads\classes\PrestaShopAutoload.php on line 161

Anytime I navigate to the install page now, it automatically shows the License Agreements page, but clicking next causes page to load slow and eventually results in the internal server error page. No additional error messages after that.
