Our site is extremely slow, any help please?

Our site powered by Prestashop 1.6.1.1 is running very very slow. It all started when we auto automatically imported massive amount of products from the our supply´s site via API. First we were hosting with OVH and later transferred to Contabo due to the fact that we needed like over 100 GB disk space, which was not been offered by OVH. However the site was still very slow and Contabo advised us to purchased VPS 800GB SSD so that the site will run fast, which we did. Despite this, the site does not  run fast.

 

The backoffice does not open sometimes, sometimes it takes like 15 mins, sometimes it clashes. 

The homepage is also the same, sometime it opens but not too slow, sometimes it clashes. 

The product page is the worst, it hardly opens.

 

We have disable and enable some features in performance features still the site is very very slow.

 

Can anyone have a suggestion of what we can? Your opinion and help will be highly appreciated.

hi,

did you changed in the localization->localization the correct settings for the Country identifier (this should be the country of the hosting/server) and the correct Language identifier settings?

Do you have any caching module enabled/installed?

Did you verified the Configuration information page for any incorrect folder permissions(especially for the cache folder)

How many products (or combinations) do you have in your store?

Is over 250, 000 products

One time, I optimized a similar shop with almost 1 milion products. It needs some tunning. PrestaShop itself can have problems with this amount of products.

What could the problem be? Could it be the hosting ?

Anyway, this issue is very serious and you should expect even more costs. What and where, it is too early to assess.
