Hi,

I have the same domain as a .co.uk and a .com prefix.

I have a website running on Presatshop 1.6.0.14 and wanted to have the same webiste on both domains

My questions are

1. Will Google penailse for duplicate content, even though its the same domain name, just a .com and a country specific .co.uk or will this actual boost the ratings of the site?

2. Whats the best way to setup the site, install the website on both domain and then have both working off the same SQL database?

3. Is this what Multistore is actually meant for? Do I set up multistore in prestashop pointing at the two actual and not virtual domains?

I'm totally confused, can anybody please help?

Full Respect

you would not be penalized for duplicate content

typically one would create a native PrestaShop MultiStore (.uk) within PrestaShop.

learn more here:

http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS16/Managing+Multiple+Shops

This can however create some rather interesting issues for themes and modules which are 'not' MultiStore compliant but in general works ok.  It's not necessarily a native issue but lack of compliancy of 3rd party developers.

We have developed other methods of multiplexing single content across country/region and if you would like to be beta user I have to options:

1. Multishop pro: (this module allows you to add domains from module and configure key default shop valued (.uk) in your case

http://multishoppro.com

http://multishoppro.co.uk/

2. International SEO module:

this module removes need for multiple domains and localizes language/region by exapnding native ps url with for example, en-us en-gb.

(personal message me if you are interested in beta user)
