Error Creating New 'Virtual Product' in Prestashop

Hi. I'm wondering if any prestashop pro out there can help me solve this issue. Using Prestashop 1.6.1.4 with the SNS Kalolia theme.

I'm able to create a regular product (and view it) but I'm having a problem when attempting to create a 'virtual product'. The tab on the left "virtual product" will appear, and I'm able to use the slider "Does this product have an associated file?" I move it over to YES.

Now, I add a file and enter the other values, but when I click SAVE it simply returns the slider back to its default "NO" position and my info is lost. There is no error associated at the top of Prestashop with it (like filesize too large etc) - simply it won't accept my info or files.

No matter what type of file (.jpg, jpeg, .png or .zip) nor does the file size matter (I've tried 15KB to 5MB files), nothing seems to work. I've even tried every combination of setting (using 0 and/or 5 for allowed downloads, set and not set 'expiration date' as well as 'number of days = 0 and/or 8 etc). Nothing works.

Any suggestions out there, Prestashop gurus?

---Thanks, Scott

there must be some error happened if it was not saved correctly.

you can enable DEV mode by setting _PS_MODE_DEV_ to true in file /config/defines.inc.php.

check the logs at back office - Advanced Parameters - log

Or

Check following log files  YourStoreURL/log/

Thanks for the advice. The log file says nothing out of the ordinary, just a regular log that states I edited a product.

I enabled DEV mode, and now I can see an error message appearing in Prestashop (where before I could not). Now when I save, it says [ Duplicate entry '275' for key 'id_product' ]. Which is odd since there's only one product using that code, and it's this exact virtual product which I've already saved.

However, I've figured out the problem by chance. The product I created was just a test and I didn't enable it. I had to enable the product and the error went away.

Resolved.
