Template compiler error 500 with Smarty

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I was configuring (for the first time ever) the section 'Advanced parameters>Performance' and when I turned on the 'Smart cache for CSS' and activated the Apache optimization (both in CCC section) I got an Error 500:

Fatal error: in /homepages/36/d606766229/htdocs/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_templatecompilerbase.php on line 58

Said code line appears as it follows:

* @var Smarty_Internal_Template
Gotta recognize I got a bit scared at the moment (My knowledge of anything related to web developing is quite limited), even more when I googled it: didn't retrieve any similar result.

So I decided to turn back off the 'Smart cache for CSS' and deactivated the Apache optimization.

Also, in the 'Smarty' section (still in 'Advanced parameters>Performance') I deactivated cache and switched to 'Force compilation', as well as deleted the content (but the 'index.php' files) in the folders 'cache/smarty/compile' and 'cache/smarty/cache'. And same on 'themes/*my theme*/cache' (there was nothing to delete in this last folder).

Nothing happened, the error 500 is still there.

I would really appreciate some help here.

Thanks beforehand.

Edit: I forgot to mention I reactivated cache and switched back to 'Never recompile template files' in the 'Smarty' section.
