Back Office And Front Office Issues

Recommended Posts

Hi

I am having an issue with the back office and front office, they don't seem to be working together, When i update something like product images or the image of the image slider, prestashop back office says its changed, but front office nothing changes, I have to go into the FTP, find the module Php/CSS and change something, even if it breaks the module, save it, then revert it, then it finally changes in the front office, this is causing us so much hassle as even when i change images, i get a massive question mark until i finally fix it, which takes me 30 minutes.

This means to change 1 image, it takes me over 30 minutes just to change an image.

Does anyone know what has happened as i am completely lost after looking at this for a while.

I've done all that but nothing has worked. Still not showing new images, and now even doing stuff in the FTP is not changing the front office. This is becoming a massive issue for me as this is a live website and i need to get it perfect as we are having high bounce rates due to errors.

I got it working with my old method. But if you look at the banner, yesterday it took me 2 hours to finally change it to those images.

Thats the shop link, basically anything on home page when edited needs to be edited in the FTP to change. I have disabled caching and haven't tried it since, but i am in the middle of designing more slider banners and will be able to test it later.

When i've done them i will say on the forums weither it changed or not.

So attached are some image change i did, i have changed it to match what it resizes it too. But as you can see, it hasn't change the image in the front office, back office it is connected to the 250x178px image, front office is still showing it is using 350x250px, now unless i edit it via FTP this will not change.

The second lot of images is showing how i've edited cross selling module to not show price, yet on a page, it is still showing price, once again im sure if i edit the FTP this will effectively change, but have not tried it with this module yet.

This is now getting very stressful as prestashop quotes its an amazing back office with easy to use modules, yet all i seem to be doing is running everything via FTP, which if i wanted to do that i would of designed using a different platform with cheaper modules.

If you look at the Preferences, Images page you will see Prestashop resizes images to many different image sizes each has its own location in Prestashops FO.

If you are aware of this and changes some of the sizes of the images did you regenerate thumbnails also on the Preferences, Images page.

I just tested the cross selling module and set to not show prices and I had to clear the cache before the prices not longer showed but did work fine after this.

I figured it out. What i hadn't crossed my mind was when we transfered host, they had misplaced the cache folder and never put it back into the smarty cache folder, and had changed the change to cachefd which had buggered it all up.

Thank you for your help.
