Ps Is Adding Delivery Costs Before Login. Why?

I have a problem with PS 1.6.1.4

I added "Express courier" as my only delivery option. Delivery is free in my country, Italy, and it adds 5 euros to orders coming from outside Italy. The problem is that, even if a visitor is not logged in or registered, the shopping cart already shows 5 euros as shipping costs. So people from Italy think they're going to pay 5 euros more and maybe don't even bother registering (they would see it's not the case).

Why is that? How come the system doesn't wait to see where the customer is from and then decide if delivery costs apply or not?

Most likely the system thinks you are outside Italy. The standard setting of Prestashop is that it derives the country from the language of your browser. So if you are looking at your site in an English language browser it will think you are in the US.

One way to see where the system thinks you are is to open the shopping cart and start the registration process. It will give as default country the one it thinks that you are.
