Some background:

Due to the nature of our business (selling DVD/Blu-ray copies of local dance performances/school graduations/concerts) we are never shipping orders as they come into the site. We take orders for a particular product up until a certain date. At that date the price goes up and we either 1.) ship all the orders we have for that product to the customers home or 2.) deliver all the orders we have for that product to the dance studio, depending on the product.

 

Our need:

We need to be able to sort orders by a specific product and update status of all of those orders to 1.) "shipped" or 2.) "delivered to studio" in both cases triggering an email telling the customer to look for their DVD in the mail or retrieve it from the dance studio. We are capable of creating the statuses and telling prestashop what to do when the status has changed.

 

The hard part seems to be "sort orders by product" and we have not been able to locate any module that claims to do this. It seems a column could be added to the orders page to sort by product (name and/or product ID) and the bulk actions/change status tab at the bottom would do the rest.

We do not need a module that also prints shipping labels. We only need to sort by product and bulk update the status of those products.

 

We rarely get different products purchased in a single order, so we could certainly handle those manually if they do not sort properly in the list view.
