Yo Mirpuri
Hi, This might be a simple question to answer for most of you, but right now it would help me really a lot! We are hosting our prestashop eCommerce store on shared hosting. (With about 2000 products). We started with a plan of 1.5GB space, and now are hosting on a plan with 9.5 GB space. (We are getting choked now with space, even the 9.54 GB of pace isn't enough for 2000 products). We are mainly concentrating on Drop Shipping and sell some of our own products too. We propose to add new products and make the available catalog to 10,000 products soon. My question is how much space would we require to have that many products? Your suggestion would be really helpful to us. Thanks in advance. Regards, Yo Mir
bellini13
There are 2 aspects you need to consider 1) The size of the database 2) How many product images you will have The size of the database should start small (even with 10,000 products, and 10,000 images). The database will grow overtime if you allow statistics to be captured and stored, so that is something you need to calculate. I'm not going to venture a guess at how many images you have for your products, or how large those images might be. I would suggest you look at the /img/p folder on your server, check it's current size, and then multiply that by 5 (2,000 products > 10,000 products). You will need that much space to hold those images. Everything else is small in comparison, so once you know the size for the above 2 things, then just pad the size by an extra 10-20%, or 50% if you want to account for growth over time.
