[MODULE] jGalleryView - version 2

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I was wondering how to change the way a jpg get's compressed, because all the images i add look pretty crappy after jGalleryView has put them in the slider :( Basicly i don't want any of my images being compressed by jGalleryView.
Is there a way to change this in one of the files? I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks in advance for the reply!

Hey,
your module is awesome, however I need it or a seperate page. does anyone have any help for doing this. Basically I need a seperate page that just displays the gallery and that is it.
I figure I need to create a new hook in the database.
Modify the module to install to this hook.
Create a blank page.php, with the new hook in it.

I know there must be a bit more to it than that. Can anyone help??

Hi did you manage to do this? I'm looking for the same thing...please help!

Bonjour,

Quelle est la taille des images qu'il faut uploader dans le jgallery view pour qu'elles remplissent bien l'espace??
Est-ce que le format doit être exact ou bien une proportion hauteur x largeur suffit??

D'avance merci pour votre aide,

Lionel

I found a bug on this module. If you use top horizontal menu, than JS colidates, i.e. overlaps. Please see picture. Only solution to avoid this is to hook jsGallery to another position.

@ Rhobur, which version presta ? Mine is working fine and was automatic hooked to the header and also content, after activating it. When I check your shop I can see it working, unfortunately you deleted the small slide preview, so if you de-activate JS, you also cannot see all other modules and products on your main site. I think you deleted too much code... try to reinstall without changes....

You also have more problems on your main site... install FF and see it by yourself. Text collided, pictures missing, not fully uploaded, so they can't be shown in browser (this is due to problem with server restrictions, too small time-outs...)

Thanks for help and suggestions, the issue manifests in localhost where I am trying to improve the design a little bit. Version is 1.4.30.
No errors whatsoever just doesn't display despite of appearing hooked in the header, if I move it back to homepage is ok , like on live site.

Sorry I cannot help, because I never worked on localhost. My space is so big, that I have presta, also for testpurposes, online but cloned on different IP's, which are not of public access. This has the advantage that I have working presta "live". Some modules have strange behaviour on localhost, so I don't use this...

See picture. When JS is disabled, than also editorial and featured products are not shown, because you deleted some code more from jGallery... (page in the middle is than absolutely blanc).

I am sorry, not sure what you are saying, you mean that my page is blank when browser JS is deactivated ?
To me it shows right, maybe is something that I don't quite understand.
Thank you for your efforts :-).

I'm using FF with add-on "no-script" which disables JS and other possible malware scripts on page. With this add-on you can give free script execution by your own. If JS is completly disabled, so your main page, on which jGallery is implemented will not shown any products or modules in the center of the page. This is due the jGallery-module.
Perhaps you are seeing it, because FF caches the pages... If you place the jGallery module on bottom this problem will be avoid, but this is not really a problem, there are only few users not allowing JS by default ;-)...

The problem with text collided has nothing to do with the module JS....

Hello

Thank you for this module. However, I would like to display it on pages other than Home. I assume that I have to create a custom hook function in jgalleryview2.php . Does anyone know how to do that? I would like to display it on CMS pages.

Thank you

Just can't figure out how to resize de module, I've try to change "panel_width" and "panel_height" but the new values are ignored....

Try to play around with !important values in CSS :)

I've managed to display the gallery on pages other than Home. I don't have time to write it all, so quickly - follow this tutorial: http://ardianys.com/64_how-to-add-new-hook-prestashop-engine-modification-tutorial-series.html ; It's all the same, except step #4 - in our case you have to add custom hook in jgalleryview2.php, right after the function:

	function hookHome($params)
{
       }

So it looks like:

	function hookCenter($params)
{
	if ($xml = $this->_xml)
	{
		global $cookie, $smarty;
		$smarty->assign(array(
			'xml' => $xml,
			'title' => 'title_'.$cookie->id_lang,
			'text' => 'text_'.$cookie->id_lang
		));
		return $this->display(__FILE__, $this->name.'.tpl');
	}
	return false;
}

I wanted to have gallery on one specific CMS page. So I've added the following code to CMS.tpl:

       {if $smarty.get.id_cms == 12}
	{$HOOK_CENTER}
       {/if}

I've got a problem. My gallery doesn't work in Internet Explorer, I've changed only CSS code and some settings in "jgalleryview2.tpl"

Address - http://viscar.test.dih.pl/cms.php?id_cms=12 (works fine in Chrome, Opera and FF - don't bother with thumbnails, I've removed them, because they don't display correctly)

CSS:

EDIT: Solved - the issue was:

ul.filmstrip { display:none !important; }

I had to change it to display:block, and then set z-index to -50

Ok .. i have several questions. Is it possible to make the URL work when you click on the image itself and not the text.? keeping the the text overlay as text only....

Is it possible to change the slideshow so it has a "random" option?

And finally.. i want to use the categories images to make a slideshow. I have more than 100 categories... (don´t call me crazy.. it a cosmetics store). is it possible to make it read the categories img folder and create a slideshow without having to add all the images? and with a random feature....

Hi everyone,

I downloaded and installed Jgalleryview 2, really great module!

But I have a problem about customization. Many CSS are integrated directly into the code via the attribute "style" and I can't find where make the change...

Thanks in advance ;)

Hello,

I found this module works fine for me.

When i propose the module to one of my clients, he report me a bug to solve.

Maybe, do you already fix it ?

He add 20 images to the modules. When he had one more, the xml file is updated with 21 entries, but the 21th image is not uploaded and the image is replaced by the 404 image.

When i go to the upload image folder, the image is not uploaded!

Can you help me to fix this bug?

Ethan

Hello

I need to have 2 instances of this module working on a single page in different locations.

I have read about how to duplicate a module and did exactly as told, but it doesn't work as expected - the first gallery breaks and shows nothing anymore and the second gallery is not a gallery - all the pictures are displayed with no gallery functionality.

I couldn't make it work even on another page other than Home, even though I have created another hook.

http://ardianys.com/64_how-to-add-new-hook-prestashop-engine-modification-tutorial-series.html

http://alvinjiang.blogspot.com/2011/01/prestashop-tips-how-to-duplicate.html

I have combined the information from the two links mentioned above, plus everything I read in this thread and it still doesn't work.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

And can you point me to a link where I can read more about duplicating modules?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Bonjour,

Sorry : now in english,

I installed this module and I find it very well. I soon open my shop and I would have liked that it is operational. The slide stay above small banners which I would like to keep. I do not manage to put it to the left. It takes all the width of the page. You can help me by saying to me Where I have to go to make the modifications to put it to the left.

I also have the problem of the deletion of images : the module was not modified for it?

See capture previous message

Thank you

I just installed the module on PS 1.4.5.1. Nice work, thanks !

A question : all my images are not at the width of the module.

I noticed under firebug that changing, for the main images the CSS value from "position:relative" to "position:absolute" would help me.

However, I was not able either to create a CSS key, not modify anoything on jgalleryview2.tpl that is taken into account. Could you please help me centering images horizontaly in the module?

Edit : just found. Just add in galleryview.css the follwing (!important was missing in my first trials):

html body#index div#wrapper1 div#wrapper2 div#wrapper3 div#columns div#center_column.center_column div#galleryviewHolder div#wrap div#gallery.gallery div.panel img{position:absolute !important;}

Other stuff : my center colum is larger than usual. I'm trying to enlagrde the module to 706px width. How to correctly enlarge everything to fit to a 706px largeness (also including filmstrip and strip_wrapper CSS data (which are hard encoded in HTML code) , & the number of displayed minimized images as well) ?

Thanks

Matt

Did you find a solution to put a link on the image and not only on the text?

So, nobody would know why the modifications on CSS file are not taken ?

Thank you for an example of code for insertion of the link...

Good weekend

EDIT : found, I'll publish the answers later : )

Hi,

Thanks for the module. Could you help me ?

I would like to use the gallery only for "product.php?id_product=3". I suppose I have to change an hook's code on "jgalleryview2.php" but I don't know which one.

In fact I would to put the module below "more_details".

Any solution ?

Bicnit (French user).

Hello, and thanks for this module.

Do you think it's possible to display the slideshow anywhere else than in a hook?

I think about the {load_the_module} syntax like we could have in joomla. It allows to load a module within an article.

Thanks

bonjour,

super module !

Can i put this modul in to a single page? Not the frontside.

Hi, i want this too, how can i add to any other page?

i try this:

I create in DB a hook named galMe, later i create 2 files, gallery.php(in my root directory) and gallery.tpl in my theme directory.

Later i create a function in jgalleryview2.php, after of "function hookHome($params)", these:

function hookGalMe($params)
   {
    return $this->display(__FILE__, 'gallery.tpl');
   }

My file gallery.php:

<?php
include(dirname(__FILE__).'/config/config.inc.php');
if(intval(Configuration::get('PS_REWRITING_SETTINGS')) === 1)
$rewrited_url = __PS_BASE_URI__;
include(dirname(__FILE__).'/header.php');
$smarty->assign('HOOK_GALME', Module::hookExec('galMe'));
$smarty->display(_PS_THEME_DIR_.'gallery.tpl');
include(dirname(__FILE__).'/footer.php');

?>

And finally, in my gallery.tpl, i put this:

{$HOOK_GALME}

But it dont show anything!! :unsure:

Anybody can help me¿?

You have to do as it is described in page 12 of this topic (Thanks very much to Irminsul).

And also you have to remove the first condition in the header.tpl of the jgalleryview module.

(The tutorial link used by Irminsul is not available, you can view another one here: http://www.devoox.com/creation-hook-prestashop.html ).

Good Luck

Hello!

I recently installed the module jGallery View 2 which is on my homepage

www.renewableproductswarehouse.com

It's quite user friendly i.e. I just need to go to configuration settings and set up images, description of the product in between the tags and that's it. You can see the slide show which currently has three images. The only problem is that once you click a product it would not take you to the product page instead the link seems broken.

I used the product page link from the browser and used it in the configuration settings of the module with every product that uploaded in that module. The links seem to be fine i.e. when you copy paste the link in the browser it takes you to the product page but in the jgallery view once you click on the product the link seems to be broken.

Does anyone know how can I sort this out?

Thanks.

Hi all developers:

Please tell us, how to get the images be linked directly to products ????

There are some other sliders, you have a text-line in BO and you can

easily write down first letters, then a combobox open and you can

chose the searched product and set this URL-link to the image.

These are my wishes to improve this very nice module:

- adding a URL-link to each slides image

- little setting for: sliding-speed, direction, value for transparent color of

text box - with possibility to switch off the box

I think, with these improvements this module will be a very professional one !

Maybe a new version of module including at least URL links to product pages, please........ :-)

Hi good afternoon. I wanted to ask, if it would be possible that transition had only thumbnails? This means that large image left permanently until you click on another thumbnail.

Thanks in advance. And sorry for my English ...

How put this module in CMS pages? and how do I remove the home? Thanks

To remove from home you should delete the hook of the module in the Positions Menu, to put it in a CMS Page I don't really know how to do it but maybe in the same place of hook is the answer. Luck

what you mean by "to put this module to cms page" ?

cms page is not a hook, cms page is an editor, simple html editor where you can use html markups, not php / smarty

I have just installed jgallery on my 1.6 prestashop.  I would like the gallery to appear on another page, not the home page.

I have made a "photo gallery" category.  Can I move the jgallery to the "photo gallery" category page?

Thanks.
