No Subcategs or Products after upgrade 1.5 to 1.6

I have this problem :
I updated PrestaShop v1.5.4 to PrestaShop v1.6.1.2 .

All modules seem up to date .

Now, on the frontpage, I don't get any products or subcategories when I browse to a category .

This is very odd, as in the Backend all the Categs and Products are there .
Even more ... :
- when I search for a product it's there, I can view it .
- when I preview a product from the backend I can view it 

- all categs and products are present
 

I did set Force Compile and I did erase the old cache .
I also tried to Create a Test Category and Test Subcategory with a Test Product in it ... the Categ and Subcateg only appear in the TOP navigation menu, but the problem is the same .. no Subcategs or Products in the categ / subcateg . 

But whatever fix I did try failed, nothing seems to work .

Am I missing something ? How do I fix this ?!
