Is it safe to be hosted on the Cloud?

ClassicPearl

Question

Hi there,

I'm trying to make sure that PrestaShop might be "the one" for me :)

I see that you can host it on the Cloud, but I'm concerned because MagentoGo cancelled its cloud-based hosting solution and now everyone has to move. I'm really trying to look for a permanent solution.

Does anyone have any reason to believe PrestaShop might cancel their cloud hosting in the future?

First you should analyse if Prestashop Cloud meets your expectations/needs. There are several things you should know:

http://doc.prestashop.com/display/CLOUD/Differences+between+PrestaShop+Cloud+and+the+self-hosted+version

https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/399569-how-does-ssl-work-with-cloud/

https://www.prestashop.com/forums/topic/442293-cloud-vs-self-hosted/

Answering to your topic title: What is 100% save, when it is added to the internet ??? Nothing.... Prestashop of course uses up-to-date hardware and software, so yes it is save. How long the service would be offered (for free) ?? Nobody knows. Predecessor of the Cloud was Prestabox, which after some years was eliminated (and it was a paid service).

If you need SSL, you now are able to buy a certificate also for Prestashop Cloud.
