This module lets you completely changes the way attribute combinations are used in Prestashop.

You can choose to display attributes as Radio Buttons, Checkboxes, Drop Down Menus, Textbox, Textarea, File Upload, and Quantity textbox.

Use attribute layered images, to create a non flash based product configurator (See demo below).

Text box and Text area can have a character limit and be mandatory fields (as well as file upload)

NEW in v1.7.6:

Ability to set Drop Down menus, Radio Buttons and Image Attributes as Required.

Ability to define 'Minimum' and 'Maximum' for Check Box attributes (example: "Select between 2 and 4 of the following options:") to ensure customers select everything needed to fill an order.

Support for attributes in URLs is now available; use URLs to load a page with a pre-selected set of product attributes.

You can use an image next to each attribute group, and add a description as well (with html in it).

You can use Attribute Color / Texture.

You can have it open in a popup or on the product page.

You can control the order of attribute groups and items, and display multiple options in the same line.

The price impact will be displayed next to each option, and will automatically reflect changes.

Tomer, just purchased your module - testing it now on my localhost test server.....

UPDATE: Wow!..this is very, very impressive. I would like to congratulate tomer on an amazing module that has been very well thought out, and executed. I can, at last, come back to prestashop and start building my online store the way I originally wanted it to be.

I would stongly advise anyone who is selling customized items or even items with just a few add-on options to buy this module. I know for a fact that paying a coder to come up with something like this would have cost me over £700 - so this is a very cheap but highly professional soloution.

Many, many thanks.

Hi Tomer,

I mean is there a way to configure your module to where a customer is "required or forced" to add attribute before sending to the cart.

I've tried many different code combos with no help. So I guess I'll have to find a module that will add that functionality.

Thanks again.
Patrick

I'm still not sure what you mean required to make a selection?

With a dropdown and a radio button, the user cannot select nothing.

For the text fields, there is an option to make them required, so the user must enter text in there, but I'm still confused as to what you want to make required.

Ho Patrick,

if it's about giving the customer a kind of preselection of attribs, it's easy to do this by the use of radio-buttons. Means, if you are using radio-buttons instead of checkboxes or drop-downs, the attribute at the first position will be automatically selected (and can be changed by the customer, of course). So this way you can set your favourite color selected (as a "recommandation") as well as a "yes - no" selection. just use the radiobuttons ;)

Good luck,
jens

W O W W O W W O W W O W
Having a great CHECKOUT IS MOST IMPORTANT PART OF SHOP

After struggling for a FEW HOURS with attributes in prestashop I ran across Tom's Attribute Wizard.

MY REVIEW:
1) easy install took less than 5 minutes, easy to understand docs, I re-read 3 times then light went on in 2 minutes

2) After installing I was able to create exactly what I thought I needed in another 15 minutes...

3) BUT the best part is the vast flexibility of the mod, LIT a FIRE in my brain and I am now able to improve the checkout dramatically.

IMAGINE
--- Radio Button
--- Checkbox
--- DropDowns
--- text block for requests or instructions etc... etc.. etc...

I am blown away, I seldom take the time to review mods but this MOD is so fantastic... now I can have a checkout like apples WOW

BENEFITS
My client is paying me more for the job!!
My client is thrilled
Plus I get to be happy with the site I created....
I am 10000000% estatic with this fabulous mod...

ADVICE
BUY IT you will not forget it!

PS site is in construction and I am still playing with the options but if you want to look:; challengerdoors.com

cheers

This module saved my life!!! I had to sell tickets for a conference and be able to track the participant total in each room of the conference and limit quantities that way (not possible by default with PrestaShop!) Thanks to Tomer who TOTALLY rescued me and even supported the module personally, something very rare in this business! I <3 him and this module!!!

Hi,

I read about the Attribute Wizard Pro module and experimented somewhat in the demo-webshop of Tomerg3. Quite impressive, but I did not yet find out if the things I want to do with attributes in products can be solved with this module. So I thought: I am just gonna ask him :-). Here goes...

I have two questions about this Attribute Wizard Pro module about possibilities with attributes in our products:

1. I want the user to be able to specify the size of the product and make Prestashop change the price depending on the size entered by the user. It can be done in the Prestashop Product Combination Generator by using dropdown boxes with all the sizes in it, but it generates lots of product combinations and makes addministration quite problematic. Can this be avoided with this module?
2. I want the user to be able to add a text to our product and make Prestashop change the price of the product according to the number of letters in the text. It would be acceptable to make a dropdownbox with the number of letters and a textbox in which the user can enter the text, but in that case Prestashop should check if the number of letters and the length of the text match.

Can this be done with this module? And if so, could somebody please give me a hint how?

Thanks.

Regards,
Theo

1) You can assign a price impact to each of the attributes in any form they are displayed (radio button, drop down,, textbox, file upload etc..).

2) Right now it's not possible, you could of course customize it, but it would require a good knowledge into php/ajax.
It is a feature I would like to add to the module at some point, but my "to do" list for this module is very long.

Hi,

1) I know that I can assign a price impact to the attribute, but that's not very different compared to the functionality offered in Prestashop is it? Or did I miss something here?
2) Do you have any idea about when you can offer this functionality in the module?

I'd like to have a look at the documentation of the module, because I still think I can use it. But I am not sure. Is there any possibility for me to receive it?

Thanks.
Theo

You can login to the Backend demo page (URL is in the first post).
Look at the module configuration page, it has all the instructions, it also shows you how to enter attributes (no more combination generator).

As for the other functionality, I have no idea, but not likely in the next month.

Hi tomerg3 - thanks for the module. One question - is it some way to remove unnessesary attributes when some other chosen attribute doesn't allow these. Example - two models of T-shirts - Regent and Funky. Regent has white and black colors and Funky only green and red. Now - when default is Regent, then costumers sees only white and black color options. When he changes the model to Funky, then he sees only green and red.

Like here is made: http://shirt24.ee/detail.php?cat=77&de=403&page3=1&sark=348&pos=1

Price impact etc - working well. Now I am thinking, is that what I describe also possible, or I need to make separated product to all shirt modules. It doesn't look good - when it shows all the colors and gives possibility to add it to cart.

Tomer,

Will this attribute mod allow downloads for each attribute?

Like someone sets up formats for an embroidery shop.

With a different downloadable file for each?

I'm not sure I know what you mean, are you referring to uploads, where the user can upload a file to the product?

If so then yes, you can add as many upload fields, and define which file extensions are allowed per upload field.

No, I need for a customer to be able to choose an attribute format for their embroidery machine when purchasing and then be able to download that one format after purchasing. I have clients who embroider and their files are too big with all the formats together and attached to the product.

Like this one:
http://www.mollymine.com/product_info.php/cPath/1/products_id/6

Each of the available formats in that dropdown box has a zip file attached to it for purchase.

Also, the store owner would have to set this up in the admin uploading zips for each attribute.

Prestashop doesn't have an option for having multiple downloadable files per product, and adding that feature would probably require some serious code changes, this is not something I have planned for this module.

I have purchased Attribute Wizard Pro and am very happy with the module. I highly recommend it to everyone.

I am having one minor issue when using in IE7 & later (havent tested earlier versions) The problem doesnt exist in Firefox.

If I add a product to the Cart from anywhere on the site, it displays OK in Cart.

If I then select one of the categories, it adds an entry to the Cart "undefinedx" (see attached)

It allows me to delete it and doesnt seem to upset any of the checkout stage even if left there.

I would just rather it not appear.

Has anyone else experienced this minor issue?

The only thing I can thing of that may or may not make any difference if that I have prefixed the names of my categories 1. 2. etc to control their order in the category list.

Regards
Ian

Thats excellent news Tomer.

Will I be sent a link to download the new version given I have only recently purchased it?

And to repeat what I said in my original post, this is an excellent module. The amount of time it saved me is immense and the flexibility it has provided that is not available in standard Prestashop attributes is appreciated.

Look forward to exploring new functionality.

Cheers
Ian

You can also contact me to be a beta tester, and you can get all the latest updates.

You can follow my twitter / facebook to find out about new releases and updates.

Hi Tomer,

Is it possible to add the "required" option to all the attribute types? Currently it's only possible for 'textbox' and 'text area'. Adding that would be great!

Cheers

Not quite sure what you mean...
If , for example I have a dropdown with red, white, blue, I would like to have this option to be required to choose from before going to the cart.

But then You have by default chosen this value what You want to be default. Let say - red in Your example.

True, but the customer is obligated to choose red, white or blue. Currently you can only mark a textarea or textbox as required and not your attributes/groups.

But when default is RED and costumer wants also RED - then system takes - that costumer has not chosen anything. You need then make new option - CHOOSE, what will be default.

:) I understand what you mean and that would work if you'd have one group. So if I add the attribute "choose color" to this group it would work. The customer would need to choose one, for the system to recognize the selection. But then the second one to choose from could for example be Size S, M, L, XL. This would also need to be a required field before going to the cart ==> buit this is not possible (yet), therefore my question about adding the option required to the other attr/groups.

Cheers

I'll try to add it to the next version, I assume that if you add a "choose color" attribute, you would want to exclude it from the allowed options.

He Tomer, Yip you're right. To be precise it would be to exclude "Choose XXX" (in case of multiple groups) from the allowed options.

Cheers

I sent a message to the the author of this module, "Attribute Wizard" and asked whether it is compatible with the latest Prestashop v1.3.1 and he responded saying:

I have not tested the regular wizard on 1.3 yet (was on vacation).

It should work just fine, also the Pro version has been tested on 1.3

Since this module was not tested on v1.3.1, I replied back,

Please, test your module and make sure it is working properly on the new Prestashop version. Then send me a message. I am interested.

For my own surprise, he responded saying,
I'm too busy to send out individual emails.

Please follow my Twitter / facebook pages for all the latest module news an updates.

Are you serious? If you are in business, you will never ever respond to your customers this way.

I saw some posting in this thread complimenting this guy for his great service. Do you call that "customer service"?

I am very serious, I get contacted by people all the time, and I do not have the time or memory to start emailing everyone about every update.

That is why I created a twitter page and facebook pages where I post all my updates in one place, I also updates the threads in the forum, but if you want to get all of the updates in one organized place, twitter / facebook is the place to go.

I'm sorry if this doesn't suite you, but considering the hundreds of emails I get, this is the best solution for me.

Hi,

I bought the AWP modul, and tomerg3 (even if he is in hollidays) always reply very fast.
Good product with good support, so what else ;-)

Tomerg thinks about the "&" bug.

You can send more of your clients to post their testimonials and brag about your "GREAT" service, but I can not and I think nobody should subscribe to that.

This is not the way you handle customers, either existing or new. The email responses I received -- posted above -- show how condescending he is and the fact that he does not have the time to even respond to his new customers let alone providing "customer service". You said it yourself,

I get contacted by people all the time, and I do not have the time or memory to start emailing everyone

I suggest that you stay away from doing business with this guy and find a different company.

I don't "send" anyone to give me good reviews, customers do it themseles, because the service I provide is second to none.

I'm sorry you find my response condecending, I had no intention to do so, I never do that, even when people insist on asking me general prestashop questions by PM or email (many people just ignore them).

I replied to you when I started my long travel back home from vacation, and I gave you the same response I give to everyone that asks me "when will this be ready", I simply cannot send individual emails to everybody.

Looks to me like there was a small misunderstanding.

I think it would be very foolish not to consider purchasing ANY of Tomers products or services as he has one of the best reputations amongst the Prestashop community for his excellent customer service and after service. I for one can vouch for his professional approach to business and his competence in producing some of the best modules for your presta store.

Hi,

I am thinking of purchasing this module, it seems great.

I have a question though, about a feature. Is it possible to have a maximum value for a set of attributes, if I want customers to be able to add a certain amount of different attributes, but their combined value cannot exceed a given value.

E.g. if they can mix something of a total weight, but they cannot exceed that weight. Each attribute corresponds to a different weight, so when choosing attributes you have to choose a set which doesn't exceed 500 g?

Regards

Archie

Hi, I am thinking about buying the Attribute Wizard Pro module. I have been trying to test your demo of that module but the demo does not work. Can you please fix this demo so I can make a better judgment in my purchase decision. This looks like what I need to pull off my shop. Thanks for your time in advance.

Also I have a few questions about the license of this module.

1) If I buy it can I use it on the other site that I own?
2) I am running two different version of presta because I have two different stores. They are based on 1.2.5 & 1.3.1, so if I buy this module and presta is updated to a newer version what happens with my purchase of this module. Do I get free updates or do I half to pay for another module because the presta core was updated?

The module can be modified to do it, but it's not something that's available in the current version.

The total price and weight is calculated using javascript whenever you select an attribute.

I have reset the demo site back to normal.

1) If those site are personally yours, you can use the module for both.

2) If you buy any module on my site, you don't have to buy it again (unless it's not for personal use).
If the price of the module stays the same between version upgrades, you can get it from free (just email me), if the price goes up (which happens when I spend a lot of time on new development), then you can just pay the difference.
Usually for PS version upgrade, the price stays the same.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions!

I now have your module but I need to ask because the admin folder is inside the mod folders... I don't want to hose this site after all this work so it's better to ask first. I am running presta 1.3.1 for this install.

I see three different folders for modified 1.1, 1.2 & 1.3. Do I need to adjust anything folder wise before I install your module?

Yes, you can install the module from the backoffice (Modules->add new module), then click install next to the module name, and then click configure.

The installation instructions are there, you need to change some core files, and there is a "self-test" to make sure they are done correctly.

If you have any trouble, shoot me an email.

Thanks for your time/posts. I have it installed correctly. Now I just need to understand it. Let me go over these docs for a little while. I am sure I will be back with some questions.

----

Please read this information carefully, adding attributes is done differently than before!

# To add attributes, use the regular combinations tab, but add only 1 or more items from each group.
DO NOT use the attribute combination generator.

# Quantity is entered per attribute item, and not per combination (see example 2), when using quantity (stock) you should enter each attribute item. The available quantity of a product is set to the lowest of the selected attributes.

# If all the items from a group have the same price, weight and no quantity, they all be grouped Example 1.

# If they need to have a different price, weight or quantity, add them individually Example 2.

# Do this for each attribute group Example 3, Example 4.

# Finally, to define the defaults for each group, you MUST CREATE A NEW COMBINATION with one item from each group (for groups that will use checkboxes, you can use 0 or multiple items, This will also be the default when a customer clicks "Add to cart" from pages other than the product page) Example 5.

# When a customer adds a product to the cart, a new temporary group is created (awp_details), you should delete them once in a while using the "Delete Temporary Attributes" button. This will not affect existing order details.

I am trying to edit one of my products attributes in

Back Office >> Catalog >> Current product >> My Product >> Combination's

At the bottom of Combination's we have the attributes table with all the info. Now all the way over to the right I have an edit and delete button. The delete button works fine. However the edit button does not work? When I click on it in Firefox it does nothing.

----

Also is their any way to give some space in between the attributes options on the the front end? I have looked at the style sheet but I don't see any adjustments for space between them.

The edit button's functionality is not changed by the module, when you click edit, it populates the forum at the top of the page, just scroll up and you'll see it.

As for the gap between attributes, I'll check it out and get back to you, I don't remember how I do it off the top of my head.

You can create a new hook for the module, and place it anywhere you want, if you don't know how to do it, I can help (it takes less than 5 minutes).

I really like this module.
It helps me lot at my site: http://netikink.eu
I am recommending to every one who needs lot of customized products this module. It is worth of that. And I have seen - how tomerg3 has made it better. The first version, what I tested and now what we have - it is lot of changes - all for that, to make it better.

A quick question Tomerg3... How can I get the Add to Cart Display: Scroll Existing to scroll a little further down the page?

I made my #primary_block #pb-right-column & #primary_block #pb-left-column a little wider to accommodate for a two column theme and now I don't have enough scroll to the bottom.

Can I adjust this somewhere?

I am really enjoying your module. I also plan to send another customer your way on Sunday to buy the module again for yet another site.

Thanks for your time!
Billy

Also how in the heck did you pull off the rounded corners in FF and IE in the Product Options? I have been trying to figure that out for two days. I want to do the same for the more info block below. The only problem is I can't find a template for that section.
