"Import" feature redirect to a blank screen

Hello,

after upgrading from 1.4 to 1.6.1.1
i noticed that the "import" feature redirects to a blank screen

 

I have googled this error but I can't find any solution,

I didi check my php.ini memory limit and it is set to 168MB,

so I don't think that's the cause

 

I also tried to overwrite all the files with new ones extracted form a fresh Prestashop 1.6.1.1 download,

but nothing changed

 

Anyone has an idea why this could be happening?

The import feature is vital to me as I have to import hundreds of products!

That honestly sounds like a memory limit issue. If you are on shared host you might not be able to change the limit yourself in a php.ini file. All depends on server setup.

 

I would try increasing that variable to an extreme 256 for example. You might also want to look into max execution time, as well as max post, and max file upload size for php.ini
