Catergory description not showing up

I read on another post to get text on a categories post you need to put it in the description of the category. Ive put the description in and no text appears.

its custom template, there is a chance that code of the theme doesnt have feature to display category name.

please show contents of category.tpl file

Paulito, that is the page that needs merging with the actual product category page, i have to have it as 2 separate pages for now if that makes sense.
