Advice for upgrading from 1.0.0.8 -> 1.2.5 final

Hello,

Could you give me advice what are the right steps for upgrading from 1.0.0.8 to 1.2.5 Final.
Is there any specific actions that i have to do, before upgrading to version 1.2.5 Final, beside backing up my current installation, translation and database? Is it possible to upgrade from such an old version without loosing data?

First you have to make a backup from the files and database. In the new version there are in ihe folder install/sql/upgrade several sql-scripts (18) to upgrade your database. Then move all the files without config.php and the install folder to the website and it's done.

Try it first on a local installed website. So you can learn from the staps you taken.

Did you get to upgrade your presta shop? I am still on 1.1.0.5 and have tried several times to upgrade but it does not seem to work. I have 4500 views and no sales because my shop says no carrier to area, yet I have it set up right.

The old version of Prestashop not contemplate that every customer must belong to a group. The new version of PrestaShop requires that every customer belongs to a group assigned at the time of the creation account.
