availability status in product.tpl, strange hack

Recommended Posts

hello,

i cant translate "In stock" word to my language by regular methods. I dont want to set "In stock" in every product edit page separately as a string, so i opened product.tpl and tried to edit this part of code.

<span id="availability_value"{if $product->quantity <= 0 && !$allow_oosp} class="warning_inline"{/if}>{if $product->quantity <= 0}{if $allow_oosp}{$product->available_later}{else}{l s='This product is no longer in stock'}{/if}{else}{$product->available_now}{/if}</span>

and change the

$product->available_now

 by something like {l s='In stock'} which i can translate thru BO.

But finally i found very strange thing, that whole SPAN is somehow hacked thru
 id="availability_value". Everything inside this tag is ignored and substitued by some code. Im really confused by this, do anyone knows the source of this "bypass".
Hope its uderstandable:)
