Update Prestashop and .tpl file from theme

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've created a new theme (the same of the original, it's a copy).

So in the directory /themes/, I have two folders (default-bootstrap and mytheme).

I want to modify .tpl files in my theme (product-list.tpl for example). After that, if i will update my Prestashop for a future version, i wil lose my modifications of .tpl files or not ? That's the same for .js files ?

Thanks for your answer ! :)

if you upgrade it's possible you will lose your changes to PS default-bootstrap.

see

http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS15/Automatic+update

specifically this on default theme

  • Upgrade the "default" theme. The upgrade process overwrites the default theme with its latest incarnation. If you have made changes to the theme directly, you can protect these changes by choosing "No". As a reminder, it is NOT recommended to edit the default theme! You should make a copy of the theme, and make changes to that copy.
