upgrading on a test site and now moving to the site

Hello,

 

I am upgrading version 1.5.6.0 to 1.6.0.14. I have made the upgrade, along with some customization, on a site located in a test sub-folder on the same server, with its own database.

 

Now I need to make the upgrade on the site itself.

 

Do I need to upgrade the site to 1.6.0.14 first before moving the new customized files to the site?

 

Or, should I delete the old files, make a fresh 1.6.0.14 install and move the new customized files to the site?

 

Or, can I just delete the old files and move the new ones to the site?

 

What's the best procedure?

 

Of course I will then have to import the new database and change paths to it.

I just deleted the old files and moved the new ones to the site in place of the old ones.

Edited settings.inc and the database to point from test sub-folder to the site.

All in good order.
