Removing Pages from Site

GiantRobo

Question

Hello, I am in the process of configuring my new site.  We haven't updated any of the images yet so the site is mostly still the default theme.  We have turned off most of the pages that we didn't want but I can't find anywhere in the back office that lets me turn off this page http://www.unplugyourfun.com/stores  I don't have any physical retail stores so I have no need for this page.

Secondly, I turned off the "show manufacturers" and "Show Vendor".  I don't want that info displayed but when you go to the sitemap, the pages are still there.  How do I turn that off?  http://www.unplugyourfun.com/sitema

For to disable the stores, you should unhook this completely from the hook list. Tab "modules -> positions". Go to displayLeftColumn and/or displayRightColumn and delete the block stores from the hook by using the chevron on right side of the line and choosing "delete".

PS: For SEO impact it is better to don't show on footer the link to your sitemap. It is enough when you add to your Google webmaster account the URL: yoursite.com/sitemap.xml if your site is only one language. For users it does not make any sense to show a link to your sitemap.
