Install Step 2 - GD Library installed, but still in red...

Hi,

Try to install the shop on my local WinXP machine, but I had problems.
Now I've installed (configured) PHP5, MySQL, Apache on a MacOSX (10.5.4), and now I have PHP 5.2.6.
Created a folder on my Mac, and unzipped the files, CHMOD all the neccessary files over FTP from my WinXP, and started install script.
First step: OK
Step 2: Everything is green, except GD Library. BUT it says: GD Library Installed.
And I cannot step forward! (Yes, The GD Library is RED)

Any idea?

The GD library is required most hosts should have this as a standard to all there packages

I see what you mean. because it displays GD Library is installed you assume it would be but unfortunately if this is red & has a cross this feature is not available with your host, the installer really needs to display an alternative message such as GD not supported although they are half way there

What does it mean if there is a red circle with a - sign?

Thats what im getting.

It means "no entry"

i.e. it's not installed so you can not continue

Same problem here on Mac OS 10.5.5 about GD Libraries.
Any solutions yet ?
I'm new to that...

Are you using Apache and SQL which is pre-installed on the Mac?

I tried that - and it does not support the GD library.

I would suggest MAMP - for meat least - this works perfectly.

I spent a lot of time trying to work it out.

The GD library is not included with the Apple distribution for some reason.

The only solution is to install another version of PHP - so you may as well go for the complete package of MAMP - which worked great first time for me.

hi I'm using linux centos on my local server and i have installed GD in my server restart the services but still canot install presta it show with re4d circle GD Library is installed i made the gd instruction in my php ini files and same any help

Same problem here, Linux + Apache2 + php5.6. I've installed the php5-gd module, wich is gd2 by default but still shows red in the step2 page.

Because im sure i've installed it, I've edited the live html of the page (F12 in your browser), removing the "disabled" atributes to "Continue" button to make it work onclick and did the work, but a lof of MySQL problems wich im not sure why did appear.

But for sure there's any kind of bug on the module discovery.
I will try again the update process from the backup
