Can't Add my domain with "www." prefix

Hi Everybody,

 

I read at the documentation that if I need my store to be available both through its raw domain name and it's www-prefixed version (for example, my-store.co.uk and www.my-store.co.uk), I have to add the domain name with the www. in the "Store details" page of my store..

 

But I tried many times, and the page always shows: This domain name is already registered. Which is not real... I only succesfull added my domain name WITHOUT www. prefix.

 

Using my tickets I asked about the trouble with support, and haven't get a solution....

they answer that is DNS setting problem..... but I had already done the settings before and actually my domain without www. is working fine.........

I've read all posts about Prestashop Cloud and haven't find an concrete solution, 

Please, can anybody help me with this trouble?

Yes it is true. It is a DNS setting problem. You should ask the admin of your DNS to add also the entry with www to the A-records. If it is already added, so he did a mistake with some faulty redirections for the domain on his DNS server. You should contact the admin of your DNS and correct the problem of redirection.

I'm sorry, I haven't clarify that the Domain whit the www. prefix takes me to prestashop home site~

That is because I thought it's not DNS problem.. 

 

In that case, I have to check the DNS setting with my Domain admin (Godaddy) and then try to add my domain including the www. prefix, right? I'm attaching my DNS settings, can you please check where can be the problem?

A-Records are not configured correctly

 

DNS should be like this:

 

 

 

 

Second line on my DNS panel is for WITHOUT WWW. Perhaps you've/your DNS admin added some other rewrite on his DNS-Server for to work ? But it is not correct.

 

Line www is for with www, line blank hostname is for without www. * is for general purposes (equivalent to your @ entry), and mail is for mail.

I tried to add the www. A-Record (A-Host at Godaddy), but the system goes error message: 

"the specified CNAME already exists in the zone. A-WWW" (please view attached image 1)

 

So I pasted this topic to Godaddy support, and they say that they need the instructions of DNS settings for proceed.

Even when I give them the documentation page, they doesn't understand exactly what should do.....

I tried by my self, deleting the CNAME and including the WWW A-Host like your DNS setting, and system shows will update in one hour, but it passed half day and it's not working until now..... (please see image 4)

 

PS: I couldn't add my domain www.XXXXXX.com at prestashop "add domain function" yet... when my DNS settings is correct, I will be able to do it?

You should contact the hoster of your DNS. They have to debug the problem of wrong redirections of your domain.

On that site. "Manage domainname", or on Cloud Admin site +Add a domain. Which domain is added ? With our without www ? If without you should try to change it. If not possible, please contact the support team of Prestashop Cloud on the TAB support on your Prestashop Cloud Administration site as your DNS provider suggested. Something wrong with redirection of your domain, Prestashop can correct it on specific shop-htaccess
