Fresh installation of Prestashop 1.6 (after problems with update)

Hi Everyone.

 

I have had problems with Prestashop since I did 1 Click updated from 1.5 to 1.6

Decided to make a new installation & start over and somehow import all the files & data from my backup.

 

How can I import all the information from the old store backups?

- Orders, Clients...

- Categories, Products, Descriptions in different languages, Images ?

 

 

During prestashop installation I'm asked to created a new database...

I can't see how to use the old database.

Were you planning on using the old 1.5 database?　Because if you did plan to, you really should not.　You can't use a 1.5 db on 1.6. What kind of issue were you experiencing? It might be worth trying to import the updated 1.6 one.

To import it, you can simply create a new one, drop all tables, and add the old ones over it using phpmyadmin

I was having many different issues after updating from 1.5 to 1.6

Prices appear as 0€ when there are combinations, I saw that this could be a theme issue.

I installed a new template & then  all pics of products were gone.

 

Finally I used the 1.6 Database to make a fresh installation.

But probably there was no need for that... but anyway it is done already.
