Settings for multishop

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

using ps 1.6.0.14 I want to set up multishop. My goal is, to have a 'mainstore' at mainstore.com, and a 'substoreA.com' and 'substoreB.com' each substore only visible for one country, with the specific currency.

I want the visitors of 'mainstore.com' redirected to the right substore, selected by ip (geolocation).

What are the right settings for mainstore.com (visible for everyone, for no one or for sected countries) and what the settings for the substore's.

Thanks a lot for your help.

what you want to accomplish is not supported by native PrestaShop.

Also you want to be careful about 'duplicate content', if we use more than one gTLD (search) i.e. multiple .coms for same content there is high chance of being penalized for duplicate content.  Another penalty is the  number of redirects a shop might have, i.e. you want ip to redirect to another domain, you will be penalized.

tip: geo location uses maxmind free IP data, which is 85% accurate (at best), so 15% of your valid visitors could be denied shopping.

Hope this info helps.

Hi, the module will solve the 15% issue as one can assign a default country when IP not resolved.

It does not, now will it ever redirect country to specific domain.  This should be handled naturally by search engine, i.e. they search and they find appropriate content for their country.

I suggest search 'google ccTld', where they tell us how to avoid duplicate content, i.e. you  have domains like .fr/.de/
