Adding Images to the horizontal menu

Hi all,

 

Im working on a friends online shop using Prestashop for the first time.  

 

Have to say, absolutely fantastic!!!!!!

 

Im by no means a PHP developer and my main field is in commercial software solutions using the Microsoft .NET framework.  I do have some PHP experience but its by no means anything to brag about.  (Yes, I do rely on visual studio to write my code and such a little too much...)  

 

In any case, I'm getting along nicely with Prestashop and its setup and development however I have a question concerning the Top Horizontal Navigation.  

 

On the default example theme there are images present on the Main Menu and id like to know how to put my own images there?  Ive developed the menu categories, sub categories and such which I'm happy with, but id like to add a couple of images to make it more presentable but cant see any way of doing this.

 

Can anybody help?  Ive attached an image of what I mean if I've not explained myself well...
