Domain without www works, with www - redirects to prestashop.com

redu

Question

Hi,

we've got two domains linked to the shop in prestashop cloud - if we type them without www - all is working fine, the shop is displayed, when we type them with www - we get redirected to prestashop.com website. What needs to be set up for both options - with and without www - to work properly and show our shop? Many people still uses and will use www so this is a bit crucial before we start the shop (and want to do it asap).

We've tried to get help from presta - used one of the 'free' tickets, but did not get any answer. And the "Merchant Success Specialist and customer service representative of PrestaShop" who assured that she's our "source for questions and advice in regards to owning and operating your PrestaShop store" did nothing apart from telling us to wait for the answer. Just got tired of waiting and convincing the presta team that there are issues and bugs in some of their modules...

Regards

EDIT - I've found some similar threads here where it said to add the same domain but with www - we did this and a strange thing happened. Now, both domains (with and without www) are active and BOTH redirect to prestashop.com!

Presta answered by writing to do what we did - add a new domain...

Any suggestions?

Hi,

yes, in the end we did.

When you're logged in and just before you enter the dashboard (through manage my store button), next to the shop domain there is "Add a domain" - just add it there. It says that you might need to configure DNS but we just waited a few hours and it started working. But that only works if you have a different domain redirecting to your xyzpswebshop.com domain. Prestashop based shop works only without www.
