Upgrading from 1.6.0.9 to 1.6.0.14 - Some questions

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I am using 1.6.0.9 and am thinking about upgrading to 1.6.0.14.

My current environment is very stable and I would to know the following :

1. What will I gain by upgrading to 1.6.0.14?

2. I use a custom theme that I purchased from Templatemonster....should I expect any issues?

3. I also use a number of Third Party modules.....should I expect any issues?

4. Apart from establishing a test environment and doing a trial upgrade, are there any other things I should do?

5. Apart from thoroughly testing the new environment after the upgrade, should I be looking for some specific "things" to make sure that all is working as expected?

Thanks for your help.

Regards

Greg

Good evening

If you have a stable running enviroment, i only would upgrade if it really gives you some important fixes or features.

In any case i wouldnt upgrade to 1.6.0.14. I would wait for the next major release and the bug fixed there for... so 1.6.1.1 or so

On the other hand, if you really need the update just follow your own guide.

Thanks for the reply.

Is there a list somewhere that tells me exactly what has been fixed and what new features have been added?

Regards

Greg

There is the change log that thepan provided, which will give you a headache and drive you absolutely nuts

There is also the release topics that will provide very high level summary of the changes

I did locate a blog for .11, but nothing for .12 - .14
