How to delete a customer account

Hi,

My shop is made with Prestashop 1.5.6.2.

One client asked the following :
'"I would like to delete my account on your site and the related personal data"

How can I process to fulfil this customer requirement ?

Can I simply delete the related line in the database in the ps_customer table ?

I mention that I do not use Prestashop to issue the invoices but a separate ERP application.

I Wouldn't delete it just like that, as it's probably linked to orders, newsletter, maybe communication between you and the customer etc. Which then will cause problems. Also for your own admin I would like to keep record who bought a product etc.

 

 

Suggest to disable the customer and maybe change his Email address, so he an re-register if needed (and he/she can 'see/check' that the 'deletion' has been processed', because his/her Email address can be used again to register (if it was still in the database, he/she would get a message that the Email address is already existing) like this:

 

 

So,

    1) Change Email address to <old_email_name>_deleted001@<old_email_domain>.com or so,

 

and then

    2) disable it.
