cannot install prestashop

New to Prestashop and building websites so please be gentle. Would much appreciate any assistance I can get.

 

Starting from scratch and following the prestashop documentation  ,,, I have got myself a domain name and hosting site (123-reg) I have pointed my domain to the new web hosting package and I have copied the downloaded prestashop files (just the files and not the top level prestasop folder) to /web/content on the hosting site as suggested in the documentation for my hosting site ,however when I try to go to http://www,domain name.co.uk/web/content/install I get a 404 page error file or directory can't be found, By the way I can't access www.domain name.co.uk., I have a feeling that there might be something I've omitted probably on my hosting site. hoping someone out there would be able to run me through what I am failing to do, Thanks

You should omit /web/content/ from your URL.  so to install Prestashop you can visit

www.domain name.co.uk/install

 

also if you cannot resolve the domain name, this could mean that the DNS has not yet propagated over the internet and your site is simply not yet reachable.   would be helpful to provide your actual website address.

 

for this, you should contact your host support and have them help you.  there is little we can offer here to help with this type of issue.  once the domain resolves, then I think things should work properly.

Just tried the url justhairbeautie.co.uk/install and IT WORKS!!!!  Thanks ever so much
