MEG Venture
Hi I am using Prestashop 1.6.11 with virtual products. When I try to download a file I purchased or when I try to download a file from the backoffice under product edit page virtual product tab, I can't download the file but I get a bad data format page as indicated in the attachment. I asked to ther server provider and they told me that everything is OK with the configuration. Can you help me on this?

bellini13
sorry i have never encountered this issue before. did you upgrade the store recently, or restore any of the files in the 'downloads' folder?
MEG Venture
Hi I haven't done any upgrade or restoration. However, my hosting server provider was down for a day and this happened after that day. I contacted with them but they claim that there is no configuration change or so. I decided to change my provider after all. Migrating now...
PascalVG
Hi Meg, Did moving to the other provider solve this issue? It actually looks like the file to download is not 'downloaded', but is being opened by the browser. And as it is a zip file, you just get this nonsense on your screen. To fix, maybe try to do this: add to your .htaccess file the following line: AddType application/octet-stream .zip .doc .mov .avi .pdf .xls .mp4 (add more (or take out some) of the extensions you want to "force to download") I think this might fix your problem. Let me know, pascal.

MEG Venture
Hi Pascal Thanks for the response. I haven't had chance to try your solution. I have moved to another host and all is fine now. Best!
