Upgrade Failure 1.6.0.11 to 1.6.0.14

Recommended Posts

Using 1 - click upgrade I am getting a failure.

Error while copying file /download/.htaccess

Error when trying to upgrade file /download/.htaccess.

Reverts back to 1.6.0.11?

Also 1.6.0.9 to 1.6.0.11 upgrade seems to have corrupted database (problems with products dissapearing?)

I am having similar problem with bigger database.

I perform a testing for upgrade from 1.6.0.11 to 1.6.0.14 with 1-click upgrade. The screen stayed at "database backup, 189 table(s) left (see attached screenshot)....for 5 minutes ... Then, browser timeout ....The upgrade did not perform when I re-login to BO...

I wonder there is any setting required .... or any manual upgrade steps ...

The problem is that the process takes a while, especially if your database is large (which is impossible to know with the information you provided), and you are likely limited by your servers resources.

I would suggest backing up your website and database separately, and then skipping this part during the upgrade.  You should also contact your host and ask them to raise the max execution time.

I have same problem. Same error masage.

So I set max_execution_time to 3000 but no effect. What could be another reason please? I upgrade from 1.6.0.11 to 1.6.0.14 with 1Click module

Thank you

Just share my experience.

I just used max_execution_time = 240; memory_limit = 256

When I tried 1-click module v1.4.9 for upgrade from 1.6.0.11 to 1.6.0.14, the process hang forever... When I resume to admin panel and version remained 1.6.0.11.

After I upgraded to 1-click module v1.5, same settings has no problem. The upgrade process (excluding backup) is just few minutes...

p.s. I have about 800+ products and backup size is about 4 Gb.

Hope this helps ...

4gb?  is that the database backup size, or the website content backup size?

that is an extremely large backup file for Prestashop for either one, you should really look into why you have such a large backup file, and in the future take your backups outside of the upgrade process.  there is no reason to use the backup option during the upgrade if you can perform the backups manually before you do the upgrade

4Gb is the size of all files plus database. Majority is under img/p which is about 3Gb. I did not use the backup option of 1-click upgrade. I used the backup tool of my hosting company. I had the upgrade successfully and just want to share my experience to other users. I don't thing my size is BIG.

When I user 1-click (v 1.4.9), the process hangs forever even I did not select backup option. When using 1-click v1.5, the process can complete successfully.

Cheers

3000 is 3000 seconds or 50 minutes.  Are you saying the process ran for 50 minutes and then was killed?

No, the process ran aprox 5 min and then I get same error message as above.

Error while copying file /download/.htaccess

Error when trying to upgrade file /download/.htaccess.

So this either means you set the value to 300 (5 minutes), not 3000 (50 minutes), or that your host ignores the max_execution_time setting, and kills any process that runs too long (5 minutes).

There is not much we can do to help you with that, it is something you will need to speak to your host about
