Multistore in a subdomain?

Hello everyone,

I want to do the website of my company, I would make the main site (where I present the company and the products but not sell) in the root domain www.example.com, and a website (very similar to the first interface) where I sell our products in the subdomain shop.example.com.

I was wondering, I have to activate the multistore and make the two sites, or do the first and then turn on the multistore subdomain copying the data from the main site (then edit ad hoc).

The access to the shop site is via a menu item from the main site.

One of the things that I have not very clear (among many others:-() is how to install it on the server, I have to create the subdomain shop.example.com on the server, copy prestashop in the root domain and then everything works?
