can images be disabled for specific products?

does anyone know if this is actually possible. i have a need/desire to disable product images for some items that just don't need an image, but not all as most of my products do require an image.

if it can be done for specific products would someone be good enough to guide me through it as i know nothing at all about php.

i've looked at other posts around this subject and there really doesn't seem to be an answer, that i can find anyway. i've tried the 1px image but the main image box on the product page doesn't seem to want to resize itself so looks a bit silly.

so if anyone out there in prestashop land has an answer i would be most grateful.
