Can't add or manage products after update to 1.6.0.11

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I've updated to the new version and have been checking if everything went well. Only problem I'm facing is when I try to edit or add a new product.

The buttons to save changes are always spinning and can't be clicked. I'll attach a screenshot of the buttons. post-843064-0-24751400-1420661684_thumb.gif

What can I do to fix this?

Thanks

Hi,

Are the buttons spinning from the beginning? Or do they endlessly spin once you click them to save the product? I am assuming those are "save" and "save and stay" buttons.

Have you tried clearing browser cache... or just to make sure try accessing and managing products using google chrome in incognito mode.

HTH!

Hi,

It can be caused by a non answer of the server.

Indeed try to clear your browser cache, or please try to consult your Apache error logs to see if they are errors while browsing this page.

Hi,

Would appreciate some advise - had the same issue as above - just upgrade from 1.609 to 1.611 when the problem started.

We have checked the logs for SQL and Apache and nothing is showing relevant.

Note we can create NEW product but amending any existing ones the SAVE or SAVE & STAY options just continues to wait.

No error given - put in debug mode and still no error.

Run in IE, Chrome + Incog mode.

Server had heavy load average so some looping looks like it occurring

Chrome inspector show Method POST - status & time latency pending.

Any ideas.

Cleared PS cache and run without cache turned on

Everything else seems to be OK.

No and still an issue today.

Been doing more testing.

Reported to PS who access my system OK and manually amended which implied was my local cache.

BUT

I know PS support were able to add the words “TEST” to some existing old products – I also remove them as well but I thought it might have been the PS user access (ITSUPPORT v my login) causing issues.

Also I can’t see any log issue/problems now on the server – a couple of modules now disable due to either PHP or Apache logs.

However, I am able to create and repeat the problems.

The new items reference 605 & 609 had no problems – I can open, edit and save and drops back to the product listings OK.

All old products won’t repeat this every time.

But here is the repeatable part – ADD a REFERENCE CODE to the product (same as old product) and it won’t save and return to menu. Sometimes is writing the data back but won’t ever return to the product listings – just loops/time outs.

Likewise – if open our reference A1 (PS id 1) and remove the reference code – it save immediately & back to the product listings OK.

So looked at the INDEX of reference numbers and all seems OK.

I cant think of any other than search index it would run if trying to save content with a reference number field.

Any ideas/comments

Hello

Same Here...

Any fix ? 'cause I would say that it's quite an issue !

Thanks for those looking for a solution.

Edit : Actually for me it's not spinning like post-843064-0-24751400-1420661684_thumb.. The buttons appears but when clicked nothing moves, even after quite some time.

Hi,

So we checked, double-checked and triple-checked and the save button is not buggy. We had two different opportunities to test shops that had the same issue as you : for the first one, the issue was fixed as soon as we deactivated an external module (can't remember which one, sorry) and for the second one it was a matter of poorly set up server. If you have a "nginx 502 bad gateway", it's very likely that it comes from your server and I suggest you contact your hosting provider or adminsys.

Hope that helps!

I, too, have this issue.  There are no non-native modules.  I have disabled all modules that are not critical to running the shop.  I don't get any buttons spinning as OP did.  Just a brief flash as if the page is saving/reloading, and then nothing I tried to add or modify is saved.  Well, the one exception is that I can modify the short and long description of a pre-existing product. Can't get to the Prices, SEO, Associations, Shipping, etc.

Running on a shared InMotionHosting Pro Server.

We get a "pending" on method POST & Time Latency when the SEO module is enabled.

It never changes and never moves off this screen.

Once disable all is OK,

Note running the SEO module to process all the products also times out.

Hi,

help.js issue seems to be related to google speed server plugin.

Try to clear its cache on your server side. Or disable combine_javascript and rewrite_javascript and the enable them again.

The second issue about mod_evasive is more curious, it is well defined here

https://github.com/PrestaShop/PrestaShop/blob/1.6.0.11/admin-dev/themes/default/template/controllers/products/helpers/form/form.tpl#L107

Try to see if this file is up to date regarding an 1.6.0.11

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/PrestaShop/PrestaShop/1.6.0.11/admin-dev/themes/default/template/controllers/products/helpers/form/form.tpl, clear smarty cache and compile and the clear your browser cache. This can be also related to google speed plugin on server side.

Hi and thank you for your speedy reply.

I don't have access to the shared server's settings so as to be able to pass commands such as "ModPagespeedForbidFilters rewrite_css,rewrite_javascript" which I found at https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/module/config_filters, when I was trying to understand your reference to http://forge.prestashop.com/browse/PSCSX-4259

All that I could find to do was to use the Disable option in the cPanel's Optimize Website feature.

Similarly, I can't find a way to dump the shared server's cache.

In the back office of the store, I have Advanced Parameters -> Performance -> Caching -> Use Cache set to No.  I am unable to turn off Advanced Parameters -> Performance -> Smarty -> Cache.  When I click on NO, and then save, the page returns "Successful update." However, the Cache is still set to YES.

But I did use the Clear cache option in the upper right hand corner of the window at Advanced Parameters -> Performance.

Under Template compilation, I have it set to Recompile templates if the files have been changed. And Clear cache is set to Clear cache everytime something has been modified.

I have selected YES to both options under DEBUG MODE.

Under CCC, everything except Apache Optimization is set to NO.

Of course, I was able to dump the browser's history and cache.

After all that, retrying the same steps as mentioned in my above post yields exactly the same errors in Chrome's console.

I am unable to locate the file you reference at https://raw.githubusercontent.com/PrestaShop/PrestaShop/1.6.0.11/admin-dev/themes/default/template/controllers/products/helpers/form/form.tpl

There is no such file in my root -> controllers -> admin.  Nor in root -> controllers -> front.  From the URL on that page, it might suggest that the controllers folder is in my themes -> default-bootstrap folder.  However there is no controllers folder there.

Looking elsewhere for that file, the only file in my root -> override -> controllers -> admin -> templates or in the controllers -> is the index.php.

For better or worse, I have to go to my real job now.  Tonight, when I get home, I will try installing a fresh version of PrestaShop v1.6.11 on another InMotionHosting shared server account that I have.  I'll report back if these problems persist or not after that.

Sorry for the delay in getting this.  Life, like PrestaShop, sometimes has errors that unexpectedly appear and need attention.

In any case, I uploaded v1.6.11 from local to a different server.  Got pretty much the same problems:

Hi again Mike,

So the file admin/themes/default/js/help.js on the host you mailed me was not the one from the 1.6.0.11 version.

I uploaded the file https://github.com/PrestaShop/PrestaShop/blob/1.6.0.11/admin-dev/themes/default/js/help.js and it seems to be working well then.

Did you use the autoupgrade module to update or did you updated manually ?

Thanks for that.  I'd never have found that.

I downloaded EasyPHP DevServer 14.1 VC9 to my desktop and installed PrestaShop.  I think they use v1.6.5.  Then, while still local, I used the back office module 1-Click Upgrade to do the upgrade.  Then followed Nemo's helpful video on migrating from local to live.

As you probably saw, the only thing that I modified was to add paragraphs to the tpl files to indicate which tpl it is and it's location.

That was it.  Pretty bare bones.

Quick update.

I kept getting errors in various places, even after Gregory Roussac's gracious assistance.  He had pointed out that the help.js was not from the v1.6.11 update.  Eventually, I decided to see if the problems were all due to a flawed upgrade through the 1-Click Upgrade module.

I copied/downloaded the things that I had changed in the shop.  Then I took the nuclear option of deleting the store and its database.  Then used the webhost's PrestaShop installation process.  Then uploaded the things I had changed

.

And, wow!  Errors gone.  Works very nicely.  Updated the Google analytics module and that took care of the comparison page not showing.  Another yippee.

Silently, I was thinking that v1.6.11 was seriously flawed.  Nope.  Not at all.  The problem was a flawed upgrade process.  1.6.11 is a definite winner when it's installed rightly.

Well I'm having the same problem on a live-shop upgraded since 2010. So it is not possible for me to reinstall all again. The shop is a big one, with 10.000 products, custmoers, orders and so on... Which is the solution for it. I'm unable to save tags and when finally I'm able to save them when button is released, so I have "successfully saved" but no tag is saved.

When I use the Presta Store Manager for to save the tags I have no problems. Seems that it is not a flawed upgrade progess problem, but a problem of Prestashops /admin JScriptings.

Also the replacement of /help.js did not solved the problem, that the button save is not immediately released. It solved only the problem that when button is released I'm able to save tags for ex. successfully (not possible before).

Does anyone have a fix for this? I run a very large store - and due to upgrading using the built in upgrade mod, I am at a standstill. Spinning save buttons etc.. I have tried all the fixes etc... and it stays the same. Are Prestashop working on a fix for this?

Also, many of these code fixes are beyond the reach of most 'users' of the software - and are quite invasive. I understand that most of the work is being done by the community and it is their freely given time and expertise that is helping to make Prestashop the fantastic piece of software that it is, but I think that this problem has been going on for too long now.

I had the same problem after the upgrade to 1.6.0.14

For me the solution was to out comment the bit causing the problem

so in /js/admin/product.js

line 95 from

/*In order to prevent mod_evasive DOSPageInterval (Default 1s)*/
		if (mod_evasive)
			sleep(1000);

to

/*In order to prevent mod_evasive DOSPageInterval (Default 1s)
		if (mod_evasive)
			sleep(1000);
		*/

and it works again.

Hello,

The issue I am facing is that product features are not getting uploaded (after creating the features and adding their value) when creating new product.

Earlier no data would get saved in 9 out of 10 attempts (information, prices, associations, images, features), now whether due to update (currently having 1.6.1.13 version) or some other reasons this problem is there with features, and they do not get saved even 1 out of 10 times.

Please help to resolve this issue! It is preventing me from doing my job.

Also can not log in with registered e-mail account from which purchases were made, have e-mails sent from prestashop to that e-mail id, but log in would not happen, even after trying to reset password couple of times and getting email from prestashop. This is secondary issue, with which I also need help, I believe only prestashop executives can help with it.

Looking forward to having the problems resolved,

With regards,

Veera Sharma
