Digital Goods and Check out process

If digital goods are available in a shop, the check out process is exactly the same for physical goods and digital goods. This is wrong as we do not need a postal adress (even if questionnable maybe) and a shipping method (in any case not questionnable!) for digital good. So the check out process is wrong for those products and should be much quicker for the end user. Is there any turnaround for this??
