Changing product order in category

Hi, 

 

How can I change the product order in a category? I went to Catalog->Products->Filter by category and changed the order of some products, but the order changed in BO only.

Try clearing your cache, it might have got stuck

I had the 1.6.0.8 version, that didn't worked. For testing I installed the 1.6.0.9 version, on localhost and the product ordering worked fine. I updated the server installation to 1.6.0.9 using the 1 click update module and I also cleared the cache from BO->Advanced parameters-> Performance -> Clear cache (top right) and the problem still persists. Is there anything else I can do?

I don't know if this is important. At BO->Advanced parameters-> Performance, down the page, at "Caching",  "Use cache" is set to no.

I guess it's an old bug then. It might be tough to troubleshoot it. Did you modify any code file? If not, grab a clean 1.6.0.9 package, copy the classes/ and controllers/ folder over yours and see if it fixes it

I may have modified code files, I'm not sure. 

 

What i tried was to install the newest version 1.6.11, delete the database and import the database of the 1.6.0.8 installation. It doesn't work.

 

How could I transfer the 1.6.0.8 data to the clean installation?

well there might be some minor changes between the 2 versions. What kind of error do you get when you do that?
