Configuring postage costs by weight

Hi all

I am trying to configure my shop to allow me to add a weight for an item and then specify the delivery cost.

I have created my item in the catalogue with the weight and also created my carriers with names and weight ranges but when I add the items into the shopping cart it only uses the default carrier so the postage is the same for all items and if I change the weight of the item and add it again.

How do I configure it so that the items that weight 0 - 2 KG cost £5.95 , items that are 2 - 10KG cost £8.96 and so on.

I'm new to PS, so there may be a better answer.

But if you go to the Shipping tab in the back office, scroll down and see 'Fee's by Carrier, geographical zone, and ranges'
Choose the carrier you want to add a price for and add the specific prices below each weight. Click Save.
