top horizontal menu

I have 5 main categories and about 390 sub + sub sub categories. So If im using horizontal top menu module I see too big menu in my screen. The main problem - spaces between categories and sub-sub categories. Is it possible to hide it?

I found that: 

.sf-menu li li li ul 
{
  width: 220px; 
}

Is for my sub - sub categories. But If i write: display: none ,  i have same results. How to hide sub sub cats and solve problem with empty spaces? To get normal drop down menu..
