StrangeAttractor
I'd like every product in my shop to have an EAN13 code but some products don't have it. What range can I use to generate my own private EAN13 codes? Are there ranges meant to use the way 192.168.x.y and 10.x.y.z ranges are used for private IP networks? Dh42
None. There will be collisions at some point. You can either buy ean13's or be better off using reference numbers.
StrangeAttractor
None. There will be collisions at some point. You can either buy ean13's or be better off using reference numbers. We don't manufacture anything, we buy goods from other manufacturers and sell them. Unfortunately some (not too many, less than 1%) of the goods don't have an EAN13. That's why I am asking. Buying EANs sounds a huge overkill (and I fear to imagine how much do they cost).
StrangeAttractor
None. Why not NS 20-29 by the way?
Dh42
Hmm what is NS 20-29?

Guess, you should read wiki at least before guessing. So, if somebody needs his own "grey" barcode range, he could use: 020-029, 040-049, 200-299 prefixes for "restricted distribution", 050-059 and 990-999 for coupons, 980 for refund receipts and 981-982 for "Common Currency Coupons" (whatever it is). Necroposting, but this post is first in "ean 13 private range" google's results. Disinformation should be stopped, better after 2 years than never.
