I would just like some general question i can't find the answers to

can the mods be switched between left, right, header and footer

can things like the "catagory" "breadcrubs" "subcatagories" (in the center column)

on that same page

can i have a panel above the top menu but below the header that could hold a html table, flash mov, etc.

i can't understand all your question, but as you can see, the layout of the site is defined in the header.tpl and footer.tpl.

header.tpl show:
-header
-left column
-center column

footer.tpl show:
-rigth column
-footer

so, in the header.tpl you can add a div with a flash or something under the "header".
you can create a new header.tpl (header-2.tpl for example), with the header and a center column, but without the left column.

for example, if you want that your product pages don't have the left column, in product.php you must call the header-1.tpl, but not the header.tpl

ROW 3 - This is the image "tee shirts" - (which i also can't seem to size to fit the entire width. i made it 300x700 and it re-sizes)

you must edit the category.tpl file to change the order of the rows in the category pages

any thoughts on sizing the "T-shirts" image to fill the space...i made it 700x300 and Prestashop re-sizes it,,,i would like it fairly large....

in "Preferences -> Image" you can manage the image size. Change the "category" image to 700x300 px
