How to translate Products & Descriptions?

Hello everyone.

Hope someone will be able to help me regarding this.

My website is now in English but I want to add the possibility for my customers to select French, Portuguese or Italian as their language.

I have tried to add the translator pack in French to start but I`ve noticed that you can translate everything except for the products name, description and the various pages in CMS (such as delivery, about us, etc.)...Which is actually what I require...for my customers to see the product description, product names, etc. in French.

I tried to add two different translation modules...but I REALLY don't like how it translates the text...most of the time, the words aren't the appropriate ones and the sentences don't make any sense...it's all mixed up.

Does anyone knows how I can manually translate everything myself?

Any help appreciated. Thanks

the translation packs can only xlate native PrestaShop, i.e. what comes with your installation naturally.

The shop owner must manually xlate their custom content from back office-->localization-->translations, product, category, cms, menus screens etc.

Hello..

Not sure what you mean by Xlate the custom content....could you please specify? Can I do that from the back office directly (because I don`t see the options to translate the products, decription, etc.)?

Thanks

the best approach is to add new language via localization

then disable the language (back office-->localization-->languages

then add the new custom content, product desc, name, category name, desc, etc.

then you can enable the language and check your shop in that language.

Thank you dear! Seems to work just fine :)
