Prestashop should Create free module to export products

Prestashop should create a free export module to users that dont have sucess in upgrading prestashop. This way users can create a new site with latest prestashop versions and move products to the new site... What happen now to users who cant upgrade to 1.6 because of many errors when upgrading?

Hi, i want to export from 1.5 and then import on 1.6

The option to export is in 1.5 too  at least in 1.5.6.2.

If you don't have any 3rd party modules it should be very easy to upgrade to 1.6.

Also 1.5 and 1.6 share the same core, so you can try to export products directly from your database and import to 1.6 database. But always try on test server and make sure to backup before any intervention.

 

What error do you have when upgrading from 1.5 to 1.6?

Hi, if i upgrade using the 1 click upgrade module the theme become full of errors, if i try upgrading like you say export/import the new site display dozens of categories cloned,

Maybe export products directly from database and import to 1.6 database be the right way... Its on phpmyadmin that i do that? Thanks

Is your theme a default theme or custom theme? If its custom you should probable see if there is an update for the theme, otherwise it may be not compatible with 1.6.

Yes you can try with phpmyadmin to export products and categories database, note that there is several sections for products like product attributes and so on.

Hi, the theme is always the default, on 1.5 and 1.6.

I will try to do this in the phpmy admin.

I go to phpmy adim - database of my 1.5 site and choose custom export and then export what?

Hi, you should use this measure as an last resort, you should try to fix your problem with autoupgrade.
