Recursive write permissions for Apache user on ~/cache/

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to install prestashop and I keep getting this error message in the installation process.

I have a shared hosting with godaddy.com

I have similar issue when I was trying to install prestashop onto my host server ( network solution).
Could someone share some insight on how to fix it?
Thanks!

I had a problem with writing permissions on NS and there is no way to set recursive permissions for ~/log/ (per Network Solutions). I had to create a prestashop directory in /htdocs/ and then I reassigned my domain to direct it to there. Problem solved!

Now I have a new problem when customer tries to log out, they get this...

Page Isn't Redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

Should I just switch back to an older version of PS? Would a clean install of PS 1.6.0.8 (instead of One Click Update) fix problems? These problems need to be addressed! I could force all pages to open in SSL as a temporary fix but that's lame.

I hear Network Solutions will install Magento for free...
