Does many Cart Rules affect checkout load speed?

My store is slowly building up with lots of cart rules from vouchers we issue to customers. It's now ~500+ and growing.

 

I remember going through the codes and there were queries for cart rules somewhere related to checkout i can't remember.

 

Does Prestashop query all cart rules when customer hits the checkout page as well as clicking "continue" to payment provider (Paypal)?

 

Prestashop: 1.5.6.1

Paypal: 3.6.1

I don't think it'll cost more time if you have activated the cache. But yes if you have a lot of cart rules. 500+ is large I think. I've activated only two.

for test purposes i generated about 90 000 cart rules and tested it.

it works well even with large number of cart rules

it's a little bit slowest, but it's case of 0,1 - 0,3 seconds and only when im trying to add voucher code in cart.

Right now I added only 15 000 rules. Prestashop reached memory limit (256M).

 

Rule was product dependent (all but one category).  Removing this condition, "solved" problem.

i encountering similar problems recently

since prestashop changed something in core, cart rules can slow down shop

it's not a great "improvement" :/
