Austria - Taxes

VAT general 20%, only books and food have 10%

Selling to non EU countries = no VAT.

Selling to EU countries = VAT as above, unless the customer is a company that enters their VAT number, then they pay tax in their home country and thus, the order has no VAT.

VAT on shipping is generally the same as the product, if you have products with 10% and 20% then it should be the average, that is 15%

Additionally there exists the Small Business Regulations ("Kleinunternehmerregelung") of §6 Abs. 1 Z 27 UStG., due to which especially start-ups might be tax-exempt (0% VAT / MwSt. / USt.).

If you underly this regulation, it must be clearly stated in the TOS (AGB) and on the cart summary page as well as on the invoice etc.
