The controller AdminSelfUpgrade is missing or invalid

I am unable to proceed neither with configuring nor using the 1-click upgrade for upgrade.  I receive the same error message on both attempts: The controller adminselfupgrade is missing or invalid.  The installation of the module, 1.2.6 required several tries.  The preceeding version allowed configuration but this version does not.

Any guidence would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem using tha 1-clik upgrade

I try to upgrade from 1763 to 1782 but the sistem is crashing down whit this error.

after that i restored previous backup backup, and now if i try to open 1-click upgrade page I have this error
"The controller AdminSelfUpgrade is missing or invalid"

[ solved for me ]
in my case, i the backups file are missing file

administrator ->  autoupgrade
modules -> autoupgrade
