Adding item >= $1000

I am trying to edit a shopping cart to get a total for an item to be $1000.  I cannot get the total for an individual item to be accepted as $1000 and an item cannot be priced over $500.

 

I've been paying in the items and shopping cart for some time now just trying to get an item to total to $1000.

 

Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm not sure if I understand the question. What do you exactly mean with "edit a shopping cart" in respect to change of item prices?

Do you mean that you just cannot create a product with a price over $1000, or do you do anything special with an item (product) already "in the shopping cart"?? If so, what do you try??
